Marijuana Use Causing Trucker Shortage
New reports show truck drivers testing positive for marijuana are exacerbating the trucker shortage...
The American Trucking Association is facing a massive trucker shortage, more than 80,000 drivers, and places some of the blame on outdated rules for marijuana use.
Because of a new law enacted in 2020 truckers who test positive for THC are placed into a Federal data base and removed from driving rosters, despite more and more states legalizing marijuana use.
Of the 80,000 truckers out of service 60,000 are sidelined because of a positive marijuana test.
