The Jan 6 Commission has subpoenaed documents and testimony from four of Donald Trump's former top aids, social media director Dan Scavino, Defense Department official Kash Patel, former chief of staff Mark Meadows and former White House advisor Steven Bannon. 

In an email viewed by both Politico and The New York Times a lawyer for Donald Trump instructs them not to comply with the subpoena requests because the documents as well as testimony are protected by executive privilege.
