Kay Ivey Touts Critical Race Theory Ban in Alabama Public Schools

This week Alabama Governor Kay Ivey announced that K thru 12 teachers were banned from teaching Critical Race Theory in Alabama Public Schools.

There's just one problem Governor Ivey; Critical Race Theory, based on the 1619 Project authored by Nikole Hannah-Jones that reframes the nation's history by how much it benefited from slavery and racial injustice, is a graduate level college course and has never been taught at any K thru 12 school in America.  

We have permanently BANNED Critical Race Theory in Alabama. We’re focused on teaching our children how to read and write, not HATE.
