Grand Jury Indicts Five in Elijah McClain Case
On the night of August 29, 2019 23-year-old Elijah McClain was stopped by Aurora, Colorado Police after a call about a suspicious person. Elijah was restrained, assaulted and injected with Ketamine. Less than a week later Elijah would be removed from life support after being declared brain dead.
Two years later the officers and paramedics involved have been indicted by a grand jury...
Officers Nathan Woodyard and Randy Roedema and former officer Jason Rosenblatt along with paramedics Jeremy Cooper and Peter Cichuniec were named in the 32-count indictment.
The five defendants will be charged with one count each of manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide, as well as other charges.
Two other officers who took selfies near where Elijah was killed were fired but face no charges.
